Overview
One of the key levers for increasing your fleet's utilization rate is to identify and act on assets that are no longer running, also known as dormant assets.
The unused assets table lets you spot at a glance the equipment that has recorded no activity for a given period of time. From there, you can take the right action: follow up with the responsible team, redeploy the machine to another scope, kick off a resale project, or investigate a potential connectivity issue.
Basics
The table lists machines that have not been used for more than one day — meaning those whose last usage dates back to at least two days ago. A confidence index accompanies each entry to help you distinguish genuine non-usage from potential data or connectivity gaps.
Prioritizing dormant assets
To make the most of the table, you have two options. You can sort by last usage date to surface the machines that have been dormant the longest — ideal for prioritizing your actions. You can also filter on that same column to focus on a specific use case, for example displaying only machines inactive for less than 7 days if you want to address recent situations first.
Reading the confidence index
It is not always straightforward to distinguish genuine non-usage from a simple connectivity issue. The confidence index is there to bring that nuance and help you calibrate your response accordingly.
Sure: Available usage data confirms the machine has not been used. A usage data point has been received since the asset's last recorded usage, so the non-usage is certain.Likely: Data suggests non-usage, as a non-usage-related data point has been received since the asset's last known usage. A field confirmation may be helpful.Possible: Data is insufficient to draw a conclusion, as no data point has been received since the asset's last recorded usage. It is unclear whether this reflects genuine non-usage or a data issue. A field check is recommended before taking action.
