Understanding the Usage dashboard
The Usage dashboard gives you a summary view of how your fleet is used over a selected period.
It helps you monitor:
asset usage rate
idle rate
unavailability days
the main unavailability reasons entered by your teams
The goal is to help you identify gaps, understand why some assets are underused or not used, and prepare fleet follow-up discussions.
Select a period
The analysis period can be selected at the top right of the page.
The dashboard indicators are calculated only for the selected period.
Usage rate
The usage rate shows the share of available hours during which assets were used.
It is calculated based on:
usage hours received from data sources
available hours configured for your organization
the selected period
The usage rate is compared with the objective defined in the Usage configuration.
Example:
Usage rate: 50.7% Objective: 80%
Exclude unavailability days
You can choose to exclude unavailability days from the usage rate calculation.
When this option is enabled, days annotated as unavailable are not included in the available hours.
This gives you an adjusted usage rate, which better reflects the days when assets were actually available to work.
Example:
Exclude 96 unavailability days
Unavailability days
Unavailability days are based on annotations added in the Usage hours tracking page.
These annotations help explain why an asset was not used or was not available during a given period.
Reasons can include, for example:
Weather
Breakdown
Data issue
Unassigned
Transfer
Maintenance
Other
The dashboard displays the total number of unavailability days over the selected period, as well as the breakdown by reason.
Example:
96 unavailability days Weather: 29% Breakdown: 20% Data issue: 18%
Add or edit annotations
To add unavailability days, click Annotate days.
You will be redirected to the Usage hours tracking page, where you can annotate the relevant days directly in the usage table.
Annotations added in Usage hours tracking then feed the dashboard indicators, including:
the number of unavailability days
the breakdown by reason
the adjusted usage rate when unavailable days are excluded
Idle rate
The idle rate shows the share of engine time during which assets were idling.
This indicator helps identify situations where assets are switched on but not productive.
It can be used together with the usage rate to better understand how the fleet is actually operated.
View the related assets
The Assets and Analyze actions allow you to access more details about the assets related to an indicator.
You can use them to move from a summary view to a more detailed analysis.
Configure usage objectives
Usage objectives and available hours are defined in the Usage module configuration.
The configuration allows you to define:
available hours per asset
the usage rate objective
specific rules for some assets, when their expected usage rhythm is different
These settings are used to calculate the dashboard indicators.
