Overview
The unused assets alert lets you automatically and recurrently receive the list of machines that have recorded no usage for more than a defined number of days. It removes the need to manually check the unused assets table on a regular basis, ensuring the right people are informed at the right frequency.
Basics
Two parameters define how the alert works: a non-usage threshold, expressed in days, and a sending frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly. At each sending date, Hiboo identifies the machines that recorded no activity during the corresponding previous period and have exceeded the defined threshold. If a machine was used in the meantime, it will not appear in the report.
Configuring the alert
The non-usage threshold determines which machines are included: any asset that has exceeded that number of days without recorded activity will appear in the report. The sending frequency controls how often you receive it: from daily for reactive monitoring to quarterly for periodic fleet reviews.
Interpreting the report
Each machine in the report is accompanied by a confidence index, which helps you assess whether the inactivity is confirmed or may reflect a connectivity issue (learn more).
