Overview
Hiboo makes it possible to share or receive data produced by equipment. This is a particularly useful service when several organisations are working together on a site, or when part of the fleet is leased.
Hiboo Connect facilitates this collaboration by connecting your fleet to those of your partners.
- Do you hire equipment? Offer your customers a premium service and stand out from the competition, while retaining control over the data you share.
- Do you operate leased equipment? Retrieve data from the machines you rent and get a comprehensive, centralised view of the fleet you operate.
- Are you working with another site operator? Pool your machines to analyse site performance.
Basics
Definitions
Owner
: organisation that owns the machine and its data. This is the organisation that initiates the sharing.Beneficiary
: organisation that receives the data shared by the owner.Sender
: person in the owner organisation who initiates the sharing.Recipient
: person in the recipient organisation for whom the sharing is intended.
Accessing the share centre
The sharing centre is located at the organisation level (it's the same for all your workspaces). Here you'll find a list of past, current and future data sharing.
This is also where you can manage your shares, from creation to termination.
The sharing life cycle
The status will evolve and will allow you to understand the state of each share at a glance.
Pending
: the recipient has not yet created an organisation in Hiboo.Scheduled
: the share will be active ("in progress" status) as soon as the start date is reached. In progress
: sharing is in progress and the recipient's users have access to the machine's data stream.Stopped
: sharing has been stopped before the initially scheduled end date. Beneficiary users no longer have access to the data stream, but retain access to the period's history.Terminated
: sharing has ended on the scheduled date, and the beneficiary's users no longer have access to the data stream, but retain access to the period's history.
Creating a sharing
The creation form guides you through the process of creating a data sharing.
- Recipient: select the contact to whom you are going to send the sharing. This person will be notified by e-mail that you have proposed sharing data. If the recipient is not yet known, you will need to enter their e-mail address and the name of their organisation.
- Start and end dates: select the dates on which sharing begins and ends. You can choose not to set an end date for sharing. These dates can be changed later, provided they are in the future.
- Reference: enter a reference to help you and your customer find your way around. This field can be used, for example, to enter a contract number, an order form, a site number, etc.
- Machine selection: choose the machines that will be included in this sharing and whose data will be shared over the defined period.
Tips
This is the reference that will enable your customer to find their way around the machines you have shared with them.
Once the sharing has been created, the recipient will receive an e-mail with the summary. The next time they access Hiboo, they'll find the data for the machines you've shared with them. They will also be able to organise the machines in their workspaces as they see fit.
