The creation of workspaces is an important element in the shaping of your organization. It is even essential if you want to adapt the Hiboo platform to your internal organization.
A workspace
, allows you to associate your collaborators to a dedicated environment containing their area of responsibility or collaboration.
Steps to create a new workspace
- Two ways to initiate workspace creation
create a new workspace
from Hiboo's sidebar create workspace
from the administration page- Shape your Workspace
- Name it as intelligible as possible.
- Click on
Select equipment
to assign them to your workspace. - Assign the people involved in the use of the assigned equipment. 👩💻👨💻
- Check the members list
- If you don't find the member, invite them.
- (Optional) Select the parent workspace under which the newly created workspace will be nested (see “Workspace hierarchy” paragraph for more details).
- Click on
Create
whenever you are ready to publish your new workspace ! - Manage your Workspaces from the Administration page.
- Create a workspace
- Delete/Rename a workspace
- Have a look at the number of users and equipment involved in each workspace
- A workspace can have an unlimited number of child workspaces.
- A workspace can have only one direct parent (but an unlimited number of indirect parents (grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.).
- Hiboo World has 2 (direct) children: Hiboo Europe and Hiboo Africa
- Hiboo Hauts-de-France's parents are Hiboo France (direct parent), Hiboo Europe and Hiboo World (indirect parents).
- Level 0 is the root space. It is the parent (direct or indirect) of all other spaces.
- Level 1 for workspaces directly linked to the root space.
- Levels 2+ for the child spaces of the previous levels.
- Les équipements placés dans un espace de travail, seront automatiquement ajoutés à ses espaces parents direct et indirects.
- Equipment placed in a workspace will automatically be added to its direct and indirect parent workspaces.
- If an asset is added to Hiboo Hauts-de-France, it will be added to France, Europe, and World.
- If an asset is removed from Hiboo France, it will also be removed from Hiboo Hauts-de-France.
- The rights given to a user on a workspace will automatically be inherited by his direct and indirect child workspaces. This means that a user can never have fewer rights on a child workspace than he or she has on the parent workspace.
- If a user has administrator rights for Hiboo France, they will also have administrator rights for Hiboo Hauts-de-France.
- If a user has viewing rights for Hiboo France, they will also have viewing rights for Hiboo Hauts-de-France, unless administrator rights are granted to Hauts-de-France.
→ remember, this name will stand for a group of people and its equipment.
→ You will be able to complete the selection of your equipment later using the dispatcher feature.
⚠️ Make sure people have been invited to your platform
Workspace hierarchy
Your workspaces are evolving. You can now organise them in a hierarchical way, to match your organisation as closely as possible and make Hiboo easier to administer.
The parent-child relationship between workspaces
You can now organise your workspaces into different levels. These levels have parent
and child
relationships.

Notes
Inheritance rules
Ce qui va faciliter l’administration des grandes organisations est le fait que certains changements sont apportés automatiquement en fonction des relations entre les espaces de travail.
What will make administration easier for large organisations is the fact that certain changes are made automatically based on the relationships between workspaces.
FAQ
Question: I can't delete a workspace that is the parent of other workspaces. What should I do? Answer: It is not currently possible. Therefore, you must first delete all child workspaces before deleting the parent workspace.
Question: I can't move an already created workspace to hierarchize it. What should I do? Answer: It is not currently possible to move an existing workspace within the application. There are two options: either you request assistance from the CSM team, or you recreate the workspace and assign it the correct parent space.
